Copyright and the music we use

We respect the work of composers, arrangers and publishers, and we take copyright seriously.

The melodies. We only add melodies that we believe are in the public domain: traditional folk and children's songs with no known composer, or music by composers who died more than 70 years ago.

Where they come from. We write each melody down ourselves from a published source, such as an old songbook or a public archive, and check it note by note. We don't copy modern arrangements or recordings.

Our own work. The game, its pictures, the texts on this site and the songbooks are © Head Arcade.

Think something here is yours?

If you believe something on Recorder Hero uses your work without permission, or that one of our melodies isn't in the public domain, please tell us. Write to contact@recorderhero.com or use the contact form, and include the song or page, and what your claim is.

We'll look into it quickly, and if you're right, we'll remove it or put it right.
